Mama loves Tator Tot. She follows his adventures on FB. He calls his mother "Mama" like I do. I hear her telling Dad about him. She says he is a terrific dog. Should I be jealous? Nah, we both were lucky to find good, loving homes and great people to share our lives with.
PS His name is spelled Tator Tot. It is misspelled in the article.

Christi Smith only planned to keep Tater Tot until she could find a home for him but the perceptive pooch became a permanent part of the family when he alone realized that Smith's 4-year-old boy Peyton Anderson was not well, reported Fox affiliate KMSP.
"He kept on whining and barking and running between the two of us," Smith told the station. "I checked on him, and he was barely breathing."
Smith rushed Peyton to the emergency room where doctors reportedly found out the boy had dangerously low blood sugar.
"He just seemed kind of weird," said Smith. "He wasn't really coherent — deliriously tired."
Isis Sanchez or the Blue Pearl Veterinary Clinic explained that canines' exceptional sense of smell, which can be trained for bomb and drug detection, likely helped Tater Tot sniff out ketones, a compound that is often created when blood sugar is low.
"When you go into ketosis, an acid state in the body, your body doesn't have sufficient sugar," Sanchez said. "His blood sugar was dangerously low and he was almost comatose (according to his mother)."
She said that even humans can sometimes smell ketones on someone's breath, so for Tater Tot — if this was in fact what he sensed — it must have been particularly pronounced.
Minneapolis Animal Care and Control said that Tater Tot was adopted from Ruff Start Rescue.
