Zoey has really taken to blogging. She asked me to help her create a blog just for and about her and other canines. She says she wants to spotlight dogs like her. So there is no time like the present to start the New Year off with www.Zoeytherescue.blogspot.com

Zoey wants to remind you that there are tons of animals that need a FUREVER home. Also shelters need donations not only monetary but many other items too. She says to take in consideration that there are lots of humans who donate to wonderful, much-needed causes to help humans but there is not enough humans that donate to help save animals.

Good news to share...

Mama got so excited when she was talking to sister tonight.  So I wanted to share the news with you about my fur nephew, Louie. He is doing well since Thursday’s treatment. The doctor told his mama the worst days will be the 2nd or 3rd day. So far, he is doing great. We all hope tomorrow he will do just as well.

Besides that the best news is his lumps decreased so much that his mama says they are not noticeable at all. That is woof, woof, fabulous, woof, and woof, terrific. Sorry about the woofing but I am so excited and when I get like this I can’t help reverting to my natural language.

3 cheers for our Louie!!!!!!!!

Woof, woof, till later,
Zoey

Our Louie

It has been a while since Mama and I posted. We wanted to keep the previous post up for a while in honor of Bruiser. Now though I want to tell you about my fur nephew, Louie. He doesn’t look sick or act sick but he is. He has huge lumps in his body. He underwent his first chemo treatment yesterday at Oradell Animal Hospital. His mama told my mama that he was a trooper. He sat patiently with the tech so the doctor didn't have to  sedate him. We are praying that the treatments help him fight the lymphoma. We are all heartsick over the diagnosis but hopeful that the treatments will give us more time with him.

Mama keeps asking Laura to watch over him. You can help too, please say a prayer for Louie.

We’ll keep you posted.

Woof, woof, till later,
Zoey

Another wonderful dog crossed over the Rainbow Bridge

On Saturday, May 3, 2014 Bruiser's parents had to be brave and wise enough to make one of the hardest decisions in life. They had to know when to let their beloved dog go. My family  had to make that decision two years ago and five weeks ago we said farewell to our grand dog, Jackson. Devastating...no words can describe the pain that you are left with when your pet dies.

Bruiser was such an adorable, loving, funny canine. He stole my heart the minute I met him. He brought much love and happiness into this world, especially in Renee and Rich's lives. Bruiser was their baby for 6 short but wonderful years.

Dogs are our best friends--they teach us so much without even trying; their love is amazing and bountiful; and in my opinion, they are better than a lot of people I know.

Bruiser, I was honored to know you. We will all meet again one day. In the meantime, go run with the big dogs; find my Sierra and Jackson and have fun with them.

Bruiser, you are one awesome dog!

You will be missed by many people who loved you.
Have fun in Heaven.
