Zoey has really taken to blogging. She asked me to help her create a blog just for and about her and other canines. She says she wants to spotlight dogs like her. So there is no time like the present to start the New Year off with www.Zoeytherescue.blogspot.com

Zoey wants to remind you that there are tons of animals that need a FUREVER home. Also shelters need donations not only monetary but many other items too. She says to take in consideration that there are lots of humans who donate to wonderful, much-needed causes to help humans but there is not enough humans that donate to help save animals.

More tails from the trail

Mama parked the car in a different location this morning so we could venture on a path of the trail that we haven't explored this season. We met a woman who told us about free coffee at Wawa today. So we went and she was right--free coffee--any size you want. Not sure if all Wawas are participating. Unfortunately, no treats for pups:(

All about the painted rocks

Mama copied this from Face Book (post from July 9, 2017). The information is for anyone who doesn't know what I am talking about when I mention finding rocks along our hikes. Mama thinks it is really cool to find the rocks, especially when the artist is so creative. Happy rock hunting!

This is a new project we are starting in Waretown!
1. You get a river rock
2. Paint a design on it
3. Write "Waretown Rocks" on the back
4. Clear coat it to protect it from the weather
5. Then hide it in Waretown!
Post a picture of your rock before you hide it and then the person finding it can post a picture when they find it. It's a fun activity you can do as a family while connecting with your community.
As our group gets bigger we might do prizes or specific scavenger hunts or themes !!

Where to find rocks:
For anyone wondering where to find rocks to paint, you can go to Clayton Rock in waretown (across the street from Kristy's diner) .
-You go in with your car and get weighed. They flag you along and you go pick whatever rocks you want (be sure to make a mental note of the size and kind- its written on the side)
-Then you head to the weigh station again with the rocks in the back of your car. They flag you along again, this time you need to go in and tell them what you have.
-I have never left there paying more than $5 and I get a good amount of rocks each time. Normally getting River Rock.
If you have any questions or additional input please let any of us admins know
Where to hide and search for rocks:
-store fronts
-rail trail
-parks
-lakes
-by the bay
-library
Pretty much anywhere public, just make sure it's not private property.

Exciting walk on the trail...

We have been enjoying walking the Barnegat trail. Every day Mama adds more steps because she is in another Fit Bit challenge with cousins, so you can guess who else is in the challenge without volunteering to join. Yep, me. I really don't mind though...I get to smell a whole lot of new scents. I try rubbing myself in some of them until Mama sees what I am about to do and puts a stop to it. Some times she is just no fun!

The other day we had an exciting hike--we found our first painted rock for this season. Mama moved it to a different location (because that is what you are suppose to do). It was raining out so when she picked it up the blue paint colored her fingers.

We walked all the way to the Wawa and discovered the pony and donkeys are still on the farm I told Mama that is the tallest dog that I ever did see and she told me not to be silly because I saw the same pony last year. Hmm, maybe I should remind her of the many things she forgets!

On this particular day, we walked really far. I was exhausted when I arrived home. I swallowed my breakfast practically in one gulp, searched for my most prized possession, and then planted myself on a comfy blanket to take a much needed nap.
